GENERAL SUPPLICATIONS FROM OTHER SOURCES

You are Glorified, O Allah, and Praised; Your Name is Blessed; Your Majesty is Exalted, and none has the right to be worshipped but You.

O my Lord! I praise You not for the fear of Your hell or greed of Your heaven. I praise You, for You are the worthy of all praise.

O Allah! Indeed I ask of You, O Allah, the One, the Only, the Absolute, Who begets not and nor is He begotten, and there is none like Him, that You forgive me my sins; indeed You are the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

O Allah! Indeed, I ask of You, by the fact that to You belong all Praise; there is no god except You, You alone, You have no partners; the Bestower of favors; [O] Originator of the Heavens and the Earth; O One that is Full of Majesty and Honor; O Living One, O Eternal One; indeed I ask of You the Garden, and I seek refuge with You from the Fire.

O Allah!  Forgive me all my sins, great and small, the first and the last, those that are apparent and those that are hidden.

Glory be to You, O Allah, and all Praise, I testify that there is no god but You, I seek Your forgiveness and to You do I repent.

O Allah! Render the thoughts and inclinations within my heart, to be Your fear and remembrance, and let my endeavor and desire be devoted to what You love and appreciate.

O Allah!  I ask Thee for everlasting faith, and continual guidance and a useful knowledge. I ask Thee [for] a heart which should fear Thee; and I ask Thee [for] a true confidence in Thee.

O Allah!  Give me the scrolls [of my deeds] in my right hand.

O Allah!  I ask You for the success (of good deeds) like the rightly guided ones, and the actions (like the rightly guided ones), and the sincerity (like that) of the repentant ones, and the determination (like that) of the patient people, and the struggle (like that) of those who fear You and the search (for truth) (like that) of those who love You, and the worship (like that) of the pious, and the keen insight (as) of great scholars, until I meet You.

O Allah!  Open the ears of my heart for Your remembrance, and grant me (the ability to be) Your complete obedience, and the obedience of Your Prophet (Peace be upon him), and the observation (actions)  (of the commandments) of Your book.

O Converter of hearts!  Make my heart steadfast in Islam. O Allah! Grant us understanding of Your religion (Islam).

O Allah! I ask for health/goodness of faith, and faith accompanied by good behavior, and success followed by peace and mercy from You; and also security, pleasure and forgiveness.

Oh Allah, I hope for your mercy. Do not leave me to myself even for the blinking of an eye. Correct all of my affairs for me. There is none worthy of worship but You.

I seek the forgiveness of Allah, Oh Allah, You are peace and from You comes peace. Blessed are You, Oh Owner of Majesty and Honor!

My Lord! I am a stranger, I have no one, I am weak, I am powerless, I am impotent, I am incapable, I am without will; I seek recourse, I seek forgiveness, I seek help from Your Court, O Allah, You are the most merciful of those who show mercy!

O Lord! There is in the heavens no circulation, no star, and no motion of the planets... In the atmosphere no cloud, no lightning, and no glorification of the thunder... On the earth no profusion of animate beings and no wondrous artifact... In the seas not a droplet of water nor a fish nor any strange creature... On the mountains no stone or plant, and within them no mineral... On the trees, no leaf or blossom, nor any decorated fruit... In the bodies of living things no activity, nor any well-ordered member or system... In man’s heart no thought, no inspiration, and no illumined belief... But testify to the necessity of Your existence and are evidence of Your oneness.

Glory be unto You! We have no knowledge except that which You have taught us; indeed, You are All-Knowing, All-Wise.

O Allah! Enrich us with the need of You and do not impoverish us with the lack of perception of the need of You. Make us free of our own strength and power, and cause us to take refuge in Your strength and power. Appoint us among those who place their trust in You, and do not entrust us to ourselves. Protect us with Your protection. Have mercy on us and have mercy on all believing men and women. And grant blessings and peace to our leader, Your servant and prophet, Your friend and beloved, the beauty of Your dominion and the sovereign of Your art, the essence of Your favor and the sun of Your guidance - Mohammad (Peace be upon him) and his family.

O Lord, grant blessings and peace and benedictions to our Prophet Mohammad (Peace be upon him) and to his family and companions to the number of the breaths of the people of paradise; and resurrect us and resurrect him and his friends and companions to bliss, and our parents and brothers and sisters under his banner, and grant us his intercession, and enter us into paradise with his family and companions, through Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful! Amen. Amen.

O Allah! Grant blessings and peace to the one whom You sent as a teacher (Mohammad, Peace be upon him)  to Your servants to instruct them in knowledge of You and worship of You, and to make known the treasures of Your Names, and to translate the signs of the book of the universe and as a mirror to its worship of the beauty of Your dominion, and to all his family and companions, and have mercy on us and on all believing men and women. Amen. Through Your Mercy, O Most Merciful of the Merciful!

Forgive me my sins and bear with me and heal my ills, O my Lord! O All-Sufficing One! O Sustainer! O Faithful One! O Most Compassionate One! O Healer! O Munificent One! O Forgiving One! Pardon all my sins, and grant me health from all sicknesses, and be pleased with me for all eternity! Through Your Mercy, O Most Merciful of the Merciful!

O Allah! I have, in hope (of Your Mercy) and fear (of Your wrath), submitted myself to You, referred my affairs to You, and taken refuge in You. There is no refuge, nor source of safety from Your wrath, except You. I have believed in the Books You sent down, and the Prophets you raised.

O Allah! Put between me and errors a distance as great as that which you put between east and west! O my Lord! Clean me of my errors as a white garment is cleaned of dirt!

Lord! I ask You for the whole of good, including what is at hand and what is deferred; what I already know and what I do not know. I take refuge in You from every evil, including what is at hand and what is deferred; what I already know and what I do not know.

My Lord! There is none to hold back what You will grant, nor anything to grant what You hold back! No wealthy one can do us good, as wealth belongs to You.

Allah! I ask You for content after misfortune, a peaceful life after death, the pleasure of observing Your Face, and a desire to meet You. I take refuge in You from wronging others and from being wronged, from showing animosity and being subject to animosity, and from erring or committing unforgivable sins.

O Most Compassionate and Most Merciful! If You leave me to myself, then I will be lost to my weakness, neediness, sinfulness and erring. I do not depend but on Your Mercy, so forgive all of my sins, for none but You can forgive sins; accept my repentance, for You are the Oft-Relenting and the All-Compassionate.

Allah! You deserve most to be mentioned and none but You deserve to be worshipped. You are more helpful than anyone whose help may be sought, and more affectionate than every ruler, more generous than anyone who may be asked for something, and more generous than anyone else who gives. You are the Monarch, having no partners, and the Unique One having no like. Everything is perishable except You. You are our Lord, the All-Clement, the All-Compassionate. I ask You, for the sake of the light of Your Face, by which the heavens and earth were illuminated, and for the sake of every right belonging to You, and for the sake of those who ask of You, to forgive me in this morning and in this evening, and to protect me, by Your Power, from hellfire.

My Lord! I seek refuge in You from any knowledge which gives no benefit, and from a heart that fears You not, and from a soul not satisfied, and from prayer that cannot be answered.

O the Exalted in Might! I ask You to enable me to do good and refrain from vices, and to love the poor, and to forgive me and have mercy on me, and, when You leave people to their deviation, dissensions and disorder in public life, make me die before taking part in that disorder. I also ask You for Your love and the love of whom You love, and the love of the acts which will make me nearer to Your love.

O our Protector! I ask You for steadfastness in my affairs; I ask you for resolution in guidance; I ask You for gratitude for Your bounties and acceptable service to You; I ask You for a truthful tongue and a sound heart; and I seek refuge in You from the evil of what You know, and I ask You for the good of what You know, and I ask for Your forgiveness for what You already know. Surely You are the Knower of the Unseen.

O the Sovereign One! Help me remember You, thank You, and worship You most properly. Allah! I ask You for guidance, fear of You, chastity and independence of others.

O the Creator of the heavens and the earth! We ask You for the whole of good for which Your Prophet Mohammad (Peace be upon him), asked You, and we seek refuge in You from every evil from which Your Prophet Mohammad (Peace be upon him) sought refuge in You.

O Allah, unto You do I complain of my frailty, lack of resources and lack of significance before those people. O Most Merciful of the merciful, You are the Lord of the oppressed and You are my Lord. To whom do You abandon me? To that alien who looks askance and makes grimaces at me? Or to that enemy to whom You have given mastery over me? If, however, Your indignation is not against me, I have no worry. But Your grace is much greater for me to wish for. I seek refuge in the light of Your Countenance, which illumines all darkness and by which the affairs of this life and the hereafter have been rightly ordered, lest Your wrath alight upon me, or Your indignation descend upon me. I expect Your forgiveness until You are pleased, and there is no other resource nor any power but in You.

O Allah! You are my Lord; I am a slave.
You are the Creator; I am the one created.
You are the Provider; I am the one provided.
You are the Owner; I am the one owned.
You are the All-Living; I am the one dead.
You are the All-Permanent; I am the one mortal.
You are the All-Munificent; I am the one miserly.
You are the All-Benevolent; I am the one doing ill.
You are the All-Forgiving; I am the one sinful.
You are the Grand One; I am the one despicable.
You are the All-Strong; I am the one weak.
You are the Giver; I am the one begging.
You are the One giving Security; I am the one in fear.  You are the All-Healing One; I am the one sick.
So forgive me my sins and spare me and heal my ills,      O Allah! O All-Sufficing One! O Lord! O Faithful One! O Most Compassionate One! O Healer! O Munificent One! O Restorer to health! Pardon all my sins, and restore me to health from all illnesses, and be pleased with me for all eternity! Through Your Mercy, O Most Merciful of the Merciful!

Oh You, to Whose grandeur everything bows down, Oh You, to Whose ability everything submits, Oh You, before whose glory everything is humbled, Oh You, to Whose prestige everything surrenders, Oh You, with Whose sovereignty everything complies, Oh You, fear of Whom everything subdues, Oh You, fear of Whom cracks the mountains, Oh You, at Whose command arose the skies, Oh You, with Whose permission the earth became firmly established, Oh You, Who do not encroach upon the people of Your kingdom. All Praise To You! except Whom there is no god! In You lies security and peace! Save us from the fire!

And I beg You for the sake of Your Names : Oh Preventer, Oh Repeller, Oh You who create all benefits , Oh Hearer, Oh Exalter, Oh Maker, Oh Intercessor, Oh Gatherer, Oh All-Extensive , Oh You Who broaden. All Praise To You! except Whom there is no god! In You lies security and peace! Save us from the fire!

Oh You, Who see yet are not seen, Oh You, Who create yet are not created, Oh You, Who guide yet are not guided, Oh You, Who give life yet are not given life, Oh You, Who feed yet are not fed, Oh You, Who shelter yet are not sheltered, Oh You, Who judge yet are not judged, Oh You, Who govern yet are not governed, Oh You, Who beget not, nor was begotten, And You Whose like there is not. All Praise To You! except Whom there is no god! In You lies security and peace! Reward us out of the fire!

O Allah, I swear to You that I set out neither lightheartedly nor heedlessly, neither from hypocrisy nor from desire to be well spoken of, but out of fear for Your anger and longing to please You. I ask You to deliver me from the fire and to forgive my sins, for there is none that forgives sins but You. O my Lord! Open the gates of Your Mercy for me.

O Allah, I beg You for Your mercy to guide my heart, to settle my affairs, to order my disorder, to repel my temptation, to reform my conduct, to preserve my secret thought, to raise up my visible act, to purify my works, to make my face bright, to inspire me to walk straight, to direct me aright, to satisfy all my needs, and to keep me from all evil. O Allah, I beseech You for pure faith to fill my heart, O Allah, I beseech You for true certainty so that I may know that nothing will befall me except what You have written down for me and for glad acceptance of what You have allotted to me.

O Allah, I beg You for true and certain faith, which no unbeliever follows, and I beseech You for mercy whereby I may receive the privilege of Your regard in this world and the next. O Allah, I beseech You for patience with destiny for salvation in the encounter (on the Day of Judgement) and for the mansions of the martyrs and the life of the blessed, for help against enemies and the companionship of the prophets.

O Allah, I come to You in my need, my thought is weak, I fall short in my actions, and I am in dire need of Your Mercy. I therefore beseech You, O Judge of all things, O Healer of men’s heart, that as You rescue all from the midst of the seas, You would rescue me from the punishment of the fire, the torment of the grave and curse of destruction.

O Allah, wherever my thought has been too weak, my actions too imperfect and my intention and desire too ineffective to achieve some good, I pray and beseech You for accepting my shortcomings and bless Your mercy on me, O Lord of the Worlds!

O Allah, make us to guide and to be guided aright, not to err and lead astray at war with Thy enemies and at peace with Thy friends, loving men with Thy love and hostile with Thy hostility to those of Thy creatures who have opposed Thee. O Allah, this is my prayer, but it is for Thee to answer, this is my utmost endeavor but in Thee is my trust.

O Allah grant me light in my heart and light in my grave, light in my hearing and light in my seeing, light in my hair and light in my skin, light in my flesh and light in my blood and light in my bones, light before me, light above me, light beneath me. O Allah increase my light and give the greatest light of all. Of Thy mercy grant me light for Thou are the Most Merciful.

O' my Master! O' Thou upon Whom I rely! O' Thou unto Whom I express my distress! O' my Lord! My Lord! My Lord! Strengthen my limbs for Thy service and sustain the strength of my hands to persevere in Thy service and bestow upon me the eagerness to fear Thee and constancy to serve Thee.

O' Lord! O' Lord! O' Lord! O' my Lord! My Lord! My King! O' Master of my freedom! O' Thou who holdeth my destiny and who art aware of my suffering and poverty, O' Thou who knoweth my destitution and starvation, o' my Lord! O' Lord, O' Lord! I beseech Thee by Thy glory and Thy honor, by Thy supremely high attributes and by Thy Names to cause me to utilize my time, day and night, in Thy remembrance, by engaging myself in serving Thee (Thy cause) and to let my deeds be such as to be acceptable to Thee, so much so that all my actions and offerings (prayers) may be transformed into one continuous and sustained effort and my life may take the form of constant and perpetual service to Thee.

My Lord! My Master! I beg You, to bestow upon me in this night and this very hour, the forgiveness for all the transgressions that I have been guilty of, for all the sins that I have committed, for all the loathsome acts that I have kept secret.

I beg You, O Allah, to forgive all the evils done by me, secretly or openly, in concealment or outwardly and for every evil action that You have ordered the two angels to record and to be witnesses over me along with the limbs of my body, while You observe over me besides them which You in Your mercy has kept secret and through Your kindness unexposed to people.

O Allah, I pray to You to make my share plentiful in all the good that You do bestow; in all the favors that You do grant; and in all the virtues that You do allow to be known everywhere; and in all the sustenance and livelihood that You do expand and in respect of all the sins that You do forgive and the wrongs that You do cover up.

O' Lord! You are aware of my weakness to bear even a minor affliction of this world although such afflictions are momentary, short-lived and transient. How, then, can I bear the retributions and the punishments of the hereafter which are enormous and of intensive sufferings, of prolonged period and perpetual duration, and which shall never be alleviated for those who deserve the same because those retributions will be the result of Your wrath and Your punishment which neither the heavens nor the earth can withstand and bear! My Lord! How can I, a weak, insignificant, humble, poor and destitute creature of Yours be able to bear them? O Allah, accept my plea and forgive all the sins that I sent forth in front of You, You are indeed the Most Compassionate and Most Merciful.

My Allah! My Master! You decreed a law for me but instead I obeyed my own low desires. And I did not guard myself against the allurements of my enemy (satan). He deceived me with vain hopes whereby I was led astray. Thus I transgressed the limits set for me by You and I disobeyed Your commandments; You have, therefore, a just cause against me in all those matters and I have no plea against Thy judgement passed against me. I have therefore become (justifiably) liable to Your judgement and afflictions. But now I have turned to You, my Lord, after being guilty of omissions and transgressions against my soul, apologetically, repentantly, broken heartedly, entreating earnestly for forgiveness, yieldingly confessing (to my guilt) as I can find no escape from that which was done by me and having no refuge to which I could turn except seeking Your acceptance of my excuse and admitting me into the realm of Your unrelenting mercy.

O Allah! Accept my apology and have pity on my intense sufferings and set me free from my heavy chains (of evil deeds). My Nourisher! Have mercy on the infirmity of my body, the delicacy of my skin and the brittleness of my bones. O' Forgiver of sins! Who originated my creation and (accorded me) my individuality, and (ensured) my upbringing and welfare (and provided) my sustenance, I beg You to restore Your favors and blessings upon me as You did in the beginning of my life.

O Allah! My trails and sufferings have increased and my evilness has worsened, my good deeds have diminished and my burdens of sin have become firm. And the world has deceived me with its allurements and my own self has been affected by treachery and procrastination. Therefore, my Lord! I implore You by Your greatness not to let my sins and my misdeeds shut out access to my prayers from reaching Your realm and not to disgrace me by exposing those (hidden sins) of which You have knowledge nor to hasten my retribution for those vices and misdeeds committed by me in secret which were due to evil mindedness, ignorance, excessive lustfulness and my negligence.

O Allah! I beg You by Your greatness to be compassionate to me in all circumstances and well disposed towards me in all matters. My God! My Nourisher! Have I anyone except You from whom I can seek the dislodging of my evils and understanding of my problems?

O Allah! My Lord! How many of my loathsome acts have You screened (from public gaze)? How many of my grievous afflictions (distresses) have You reduced in severity? And how many of my stumbling have You protected, how many of my detestable acts have You averted, and how many of my undeserving praises have You spread abroad? How can I pay back even an atom of what You did for me?

My Lord, inspire us with Thy remembrance alone and in assemblies, by night and day, publicly and secretly, in prosperity and adversity! Make us intimate with silent remembrance, employ us in purified works and effort pleasing to Thee, and reward us with the full balance.

O Allah! We beg help from You alone; ask forgiveness from You alone, and turn towards You and praise You for all the good things and are grateful to You and are not ungrateful to You and we part and break off with all those who are disobedient to You. O Allah! You alone do we worship and pray exclusively to You and bow before You alone and we hasten eagerly towards You and we fear Your severe punishment and hope for Your Mercy  as your severe punishment is surely to be meted out to the unbelievers.
